Perth CBD to Caversham Wildlife Park 13 km (driving for approximately 25 minutes)
HIGHLIGHTS:
Get up close and personal with Australia’s furry, feathery and scaly friends atCaversham Wildlife Park.
There are around 200 species of native wildlife at the park. Take our word for it; you’ll want to devote at least three hours to exploring the enclosures and learning about conservation. The latest entry into the park is at 4:30pm, but you risk missing out on some activities if you arrive at this time.
It’s best to get an early start, since there’s so much to do. You can even pat and interact with the animals! It’s not just the children who get a thrill out of feeding the kangaroos by hand – this activity is a hit with people of all ages.

- Enjoy an interactive farm show and volunteer to get involved
- Pat a possum or lizard
- Watch the penguins being fed
- Snap a photo with a koala
- Feed the roos
- Meet and feed the friendly animals at Molly’s Farm (perfect for children)
All of this is included in the entry fee ($29 dollars for adults, $13 dollars for children). You can visit Caversham Wildlife Park any day of the year, except for Christmas day.
If you want to leave and return on the same day, make sure you request a pass-out stamp, which will allow you to re-enter without buying another ticket.
MEALS:
Village Cafe is located inside Whiteman Park, which surrounds the Wildlife centre. You can dine in, or pick up your food and enjoy a luxurious picnic. They offer all-day breakfast and a versatile lunch menu (burgers, salads, seafood and Thai). The seasonal dishes feature fresh, flavoursome produce and the coffee is top-notch. Kids eat free every Sunday between 8:30 and 11am!
Alfred’s Kitchen in nearby Guildford is famous for its gourmet ham, steak and bacon burgers – attracting visitors from around Perth. They’re open for dinner from 5pm until late. The average cost is $15 per person. It takes approximately 10 minutes to drive there from the park.

Homemade food service is available, the breakfast is suburb and they cater to dietary requirements. You may even get a chance to walk around the farm and feed the animals (children love this).
The property is only 4.6 km from Caversham Wildlife Park and close to Swan Valley (tomorrow’s adventure), so it’s worth staying for at least 2 nights.
