The Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA) shows off Western Australia’s spectacular sea creatures, by taking you on an underwater journey.
You don’t have to go to the Great Barrier Reef to behold the beauty of coral. AQWA offers one of the largest living coral reef exhibits in the world.

Located on Hillarys Boat Harbour, the privately-owned Aquarium is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Expect to spend around four hours at AQWA, if you want to visit all of the exhibits and unwind at the licensed cafe. There are also free activities and events during the school holidays.

Moreish snacks, gourmet classics and wholesome salads. Even the fussiest eaters will be tempted by the versatile food at Dome Cafe on Hillarys Boat Harbour. They’re open every day and the menu is the same for breakfast, lunch and dinner – so you can choose whatever you like, regardless of the hour. Fancy pancakes for dinner? Or pizza for brekkie? It’s up to you. There are also activity sheets and crayons for the little ones, who get their own special menu.
Tune into some live music at the Portside Grill, while you graze on ribs, burgers, steaks, salads and more. You can enjoy a famous share board with loved ones, or dig into your own meal with gusto. The restaurant overlooks the ocean and opens until late.
